Post Producer

The Role in Brief

As a Post Producer you will manage the output of Brave Spark’s small, but thriving post-team, ensuring we continue to maintain an excellent quality of creative work for our clients.

You will be the first port of call for all things post production at Brave Spark. The role will be primarily to triage new project briefs, resource upcoming projects and ensure that everything we deliver is to the highest standard, on time and with budget.

It’s an exciting time to be joining. Brave Spark has recently been acquired by MSQ which houses a suite of top agencies with a global reach. This means our post team is growing and we need a producer that can help us scale.

This role is right for you

If you’re an ambitious post-producer with an eye for detail who can be relied upon to manage various projects and deliver large campaigns across multiple deliverables. You will be the first dedicated post-production producer at Brave Spark, so you must be comfortable in building out the functions of the department as it expands.

You will be working with

The post-producer will be working with producers, client services and creatives. We keep lots of our projects in-house and there is lots of scope for our post-producer to be involved directly in formulating and advising on how to execute creative from a post production point of view.

Our post team consists of a handful of fantastic offline editors and a small VFX team.

You will be working on

TV Commercials, Content and through the line Campaigns.

The role in detail

As Brave Spark’s post-producer you will be expected to:

  • Triaging briefs. You will be expected to advise the wider Brave Spark team on how to execute briefs to the highest standards with respect to post-production and within the resources available.
  • Costing and scoping. An important part of the role will be guiding Producers and Client Services on expected cost and timings of a given project including assumptions, dependencies and any unforeseen risks.
  • Internal resourcing and time management of the post team. Producers and Client Services will come to you to understand what resources are available for certain projects, when they are free and who will be available. An important part of this role will be managing the diary of the post-team and maintaining a steady output.
  • Building the team. Brave Spark is expanding and the post-producer will be a key element of helping to develop talent internally as well as grow the team as and when internal resource requirements require us to do so.
  • Expand freelance network. As the number of our projects so does the need to bring freelancers at a moment’s notice. You will be expected to have a great external network of freelancers as well as looking to develop it further.
  • Advising on best practices workflow. As our team gets bigger, we need to ensure that we have a sufficient workflow framework that allows projects to run seamlessly.

General Skills

You should be a great communicator and motivator with an innate ability to ‘get things done’, with problem solving second nature to you.

Your role will centre around managing and delivering projects but you will need to get stuck into various stages of production so everyone is equipped with everything they need to make the post journey as smooth as possible.

A key part of this role will be managing a team, making sure that the various elements of the post process are interconnected and run seamlessly.

You’ll also have soft client skills and may occasionally have to work directly with the teams from other MSQ agencies.

You’ll work hand-in-hand with a diverse mix of client teams, creatives and production experts to do so.

You should have +4 years experience working in post-production, and have experience of advertising and production. You will have demonstrable experience of delivering a multitude of projects from small low-budget branded content to larger TVCs.

We operate a flexible working policy but you will be expected in the office 3 days a week. We trust our team to get the work done to a high-level regardless of where they are working. Our office is in Covent Garden.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

This role will include:

Project management

  • Working with the wider team to interrogate client briefs, challenging and asking questions, and successfully plan responses to meet client needs in effective and innovative ways
  • Ensure that there is suitable foresight of projects, with the ability to resource upcoming projects between the team. We aim to keep as much in-house as possible.
  • Owning both large scale and small scale projects.
  • You will be expected to take ideas from their initial conceptions through to their final delivery across numerous platforms and formats
  • Supporting the junior members of the post-production team and mentoring them to build self-confidence and experience.
  • Join in ideation and creative sessions, offering both ideas and production solutions.
  • Delivering, designing, scoping and planning projects.
  • Proficient management of project scope, deliverables and risks including the management of scope any creep and activation of change control whenever necessary
  • Be a go-to leader of your projects who is able to clearly articulate project scope, timelines and deadlines to ensure both client and internal expectations are set and managed
  • Maintain effective day-to-day management with the wider team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring unity, understanding and forward resource planning
  • Continually identify, monitor and managing risks and issues, especially that may impact project commercials, client satisfaction or quality of output
  • Ensure quality assurance procedures take place to continually deliver a high quality output


  • Reporting to the Head of Production and regular upward management
  • Contributing to the profitability, development and growth of Brave Spark as a business
  • Championing the services and work we deliver to both existing clients and prospects as part of growing Brave Spark’s reputation
