IDEAS AWARDS 2024 | First Line of Judges Announced

The IDEAS Awards are back and it is with great pleasure that we present to you our first line of brilliant judges!

As you know, The IDEAS Awards recognise the best and most innovative projects created by members in immersive (VR and AR), interactive, experiential technologies and virtual production.

Submissions are now open and we encourage you to submit your campaigns created within the last year.

The deadline for entries is March 28th, 2024.
Please note that THERE WILL BE NO DEADLINE EXTENSION.

The awards showcase will take place on Thursday 2nd May.

THE JUDGES

Gina Ramsden is a senior creative at Leo Burnett. Partnered with Freya Harrison, the duo have working together for over a decade. Originally from Yorkshire the pair met at Leeds college of Art and have been working together ever since.

They joined Leo’s in May 2021 and have produced award winning work for McDonald’s, Skoda and Disney. Starting their career in 2015, the pair have worked at BBH and WCRS delivering major campaigns for Audi, Tesco and Warburtons amongst many others.

In 2018 they were awarded Best New Creative Team at the British Arrows and recently won Cannes silver Lions for their work on Fries Claims for McDonald’s. Freya and Gina are also part of the Unsigned Union and are passionate about helping unsigned and under-represented talent get into the industry.

Kadine James is a successful serial entrepreneur and expert in all things web3, digital fashion, nfts/tickens and is cited as a pioneer of the Metaverse. She founded The Immersive KIND in 2016, a Web 3 commerce company, with a mission to bring brands into the metaverse through The Immersive KIND’s extended reality studio specialising in virtual reality, augmented reality and immersive production.

She is listed as top 10 web 3 founders (Yahoo Finance) Kadine is ex Ryot, Verizon Media, Accenture. After working across architecture and data visualisation (AEC) producing virtual tours and immersive worlds for the built environment she dived into the world of advertising at Verizon, Yahoo RYOT and Accenture she has since worked with some of the most recognized names across fashion, media and the gaming industry.

Sally is Joint Head of Integrated Production at adam&eveDDB. She has over 28 year’s experience delivering world-class creative campaigns across a wide variety of brands including John Lewis & Partners, Marks & Spencer and Virgin Atlantic.

Prior to working with adam&eveDDB, she was Joint Head of TV at RKCR/Y&R and Head of Production at nineteentwenty.

Sally has led the production for the now world-famous John Lewis Christmas campaigns since 2018, including The Boy & Piano, Unexpected Guest and most recently The Beginner.

Shelley Smoler has quietly carved out her spot as Droga5 London’s first female Chief Creative Officer. As a creative leader, Shelley is committed to nurturing young talent and creating ideas that are worth being remembered.

She’s renowned for multi-channel work that makes a social impact and entertains and engages audiences. She’s been at the helm of multi-award-winning creative output for brands such as Amazon, BrewDog, Uniqlo, and Diet Coke.

The Johannesburg-born creative is globally celebrated for pushing the boundaries of

commercial creativity, having used bank notes to create the provocative, highly acclaimed Black-pencil-winning “Trillion Dollar Campaign” for The Zimbabwean.

Susan joined BBH in 2010, became a Partner in 2018 and moved into the Head of Experience Production role in early 2022. She has extensive experience in innovative digital projects, CRM and global communications, having worked at major companies including Popworld, XIX Entertainment, MindShare and McCann throughout her career.

At BBH she manages the delivery of sizeable digital projects for clients, such as ASOS, Britvic, Virgin Media, Christie’s, Johnnie Walker and Samsung to name but a few. Most recently Susan’s team was responsible for delivering an immersive experience for the launch of Netflix Stranger Things 4 and award winning digital meeting / event for Roche Ophthalmology.
