Underrepresented Talent Event – March 7th, 2024

Following the success of our talent showcase and networking evening last year, we are excited to announce our next Recruiting Underrepresented Talent Event which will take place on March 7th, 2024 at Framestore & Company 3.

The APA and our members are committed to increasing the representation of talent from groups that are currently underrepresented in the commercials production industry. This event is a great opportunity for our members to connect with underrepresented talent and for us to continue to create more inclusive workspaces in the industry.

Industry professionals of all levels will be attending, as well as those looking to move into the industry. This event will be similar to previous ones, with arrival at 18:30 for drinks and nibbles, but this time there will also be speed networking running from 19:00 until 20:00. After this, informal networking will continue until 21:00.

The Speed Networking Hour will connect talent with our members who have signed up to partake in this portion of the evening. The speed networking will consist of quick 1-1 chats between talent and APA members, and members will be matched with talent who best fit their company needs, e.g. those seeking to work specifically in production, post production, sound etc. There will also be casting directors and diary services in attendance to speak directly with actors and crew.

Whilst we encourage members to sign up for the Speed Networking Hour- even if you’re not able to this time- we still hope to see you there for the informal networking both during and after the speed networking portion, as there will be many opportunities throughout the evening to connect with talent.

We usually have a good response from talent with over 100 people from underrepresented groups attending, either keen to get into the industry or actively seeking to advance their career. Some of those people are right at the start of their career but we also have several directors, senior producers, designers and other people with years of experience, looking for their next opportunity.
 
At the event, there will also be a number of our D&I Partners who will set up stations around the room so you will have a chance to connect with them, learn more about what they do and how you can get involved with their initiatives- which will be useful to you in future hiring.
