Let’s start off the week by celebrating the return of The IDEAS Awards and the second line up of judges!

As you know, The IDEAS Awards recognise the best and most innovative projects created by members in immersive (VR and AR), interactive, experiential technologies and virtual production.

Submissions are now open and we encourage you to submit your campaigns created within the last year.

The deadline for entries is March 17th, 2023.
Please note that THERE WILL BE NO DEADLINE EXTENSION.

The awards showcase will take place on Wednesday 26th April.

The Judges

Tennessee Watt is a Brand Marketing Manager at Google working to inspire marginalized talent to become technologists.

She is also the Founder and Director of Tennessee Watt Consulting, a diversity, equity and inclusion firm, where she supports a wide range of organizations to develop authentically inclusive campaigns, create equitable work cultures, identify minoritized suppliers and influencers, and react to trends within Black culture and social media at lightning speed.

She earned a Master’s degree in Management and Innovation from Imperial College London, studying in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Rennes and Prague. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance from BPP University. Tennessee has been featured in Business Insider, Adweek, PR Week, Campaign Magazine and more.

Neil Boorman is Head of Creative Lab Europe – a team within TikTok dedicated to producing and launching best-in-class creative and marketing campaigns on the platform.

He works directly with brands in multiple sectors across Europe to help them thrive in TikTok’s full-screen, sound-on environment and cut through with its highly engaged community. Neil and his team of planners, creatives, producers, designers, editors and project managers aim to showcase brands’ products and services in a way that chimes with TikTok’s culture and drives results.

Neil’s background is extremely diverse, having witnessed first-hand how cultural moments have evolved on the internet over the past two decades. Formerly a news and media writer and columnist at The Guardian, he has worked with global brands at some of the world’s most established ad and media agencies, including VCCP, GREY, Mother and Wieden + Kennedy.

Freya & Gina are a senior creative team at Leo Burnett. They met 12 years ago and joined Leo’s in May 2021 where they’ve produced work for McDonald’s, Skoda and Disney+.

Starting their career in 2015, the pair have worked at BBH and WCRS delivering major campaigns for Audi, Tesco and Warburtons amongst many others.

In 2018 they were awarded Best New Creative Team at The British Arrows. Freya and Gina are also part of the Unsigned Union and are really passionate about helping unsigned and under-represented talent get into the industry.

Dave Powell is Head of Live Experience at Vice Media. He is an experienced creative strategist with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry.
