The APA and our members are committed to increasing the representation of talent from groups that are currently underrepresented in the commercials production industry. Following the success of our first diversity networking evening, we are holding a second event on Thursday 17th November where industry professionals of all levels, and those looking to move into the industry, can connect with production companies who are aiming to expand their pool of talent. This is an amazing opportunity for you to have face to face conversations with people from underrepresented groups who are actively seeking work in commercials. There will also be a number of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion organisations showcasing what their companies do and how you can get involved with their initiatives.
We have already had an overwhelming response from the industry with over 160 young people from underrepresented groups confirmed as attending, either keen to get into the industry or to advance their career. Many of those people are right at the start of their career but we also have directors, senior producers, designers and other people with experience, looking for the next opportunity.
Our first diversity networking evening worked well because there were many APA members there- and we need you to come this time to build on that success. Coming along to the event makes you part of our industry’s drive towards the goal of creating workspaces that are accessible to all, inclusive, and truly representative of all sections of our society. It’s important to us that we not only recruit employees from underrepresented groups, but also retain their positions in our workforces. And so, this is a great opportunity to meet with talent from a range of backgrounds and hear how we can better support them.
As well as meeting talent, attending will give you connections with the diversity organisations we have partnered with, which will be useful to you in future hiring.
This event is open to APA members and talent who are already working in commercials (or who would like to work in the industry) and identify as being part of an underrepresented group.
Please arrive from 6:30pm at Framestore 28 Chancery Ln, London WC2A 1LB on Thursday 17th November.
