At the beginning of July 2020 we set out a seven-point action plan that would help us support our members in accessing a more diverse workforce of office staff and on-set crew, along with providing more access-points for those currently underrepresented in production.
The report shows (through the engagement tracker on the final page) that many APA members have used the schemes we have launched or supported to further their own diversity and inclusion goals. As a sector, a community of companies and as a representative body we are actively working towards the goals of a diverse and inclusive industry.
This is just the start though. Success requires work and long-term commitment. We are constantly learning what schemes and initiatives are effective and which are not, which need adjustments or more work and which perhaps need to be replaced entirely with something more efficient.
Our members’ engagement is crucial to these learnings, and we hope to see a continued or even greater level of commitment as we continue to work on our mission for real representation through 2021 and into 2022.
