The APA speaks at Saracens High School

Steve and Charlotte presented at Saracens High School in North West London to discuss the landscape of the advertising production industry and the various roles it has to offer. The talked started off by showing the students, aged 14-16, some of the great work being produced in our industry by APA members, including ‘JD – Family Portrait’ from Love Song, ‘Loewe – Decades of Confusion’ from Partizan and ‘Illegal’ by PinkPantheress from Partizan and DOMA.

Both speakers discussed budgets and creative meetings, what to expect from a workflow in our industry – through the brand, to agency, to production – as well as covering other areas such as post production, sound design, music video production, VFX, and animation. This overview helped students see the interconnectedness of various creative fields and the diverse opportunities available in the industry.

The students actively participated in the talk, sharing their thoughts and asking great questions throughout. Their feedback highlighted how enthusiastic and inspired they felt during the session to find out more about the world of Soho (and Shoreditch!), which is just a short Tube ride away for many of them.

It’s a pleasure to be partnered with Speakers for Schools to bring talks like this to life. Speakers for Schools is a UK charity launched in 2011 to help state schools inspire their students and broaden horizons through access to work experience placements and expertise from today’s leading figures through inspirational free talks, and more.
