We are excited to kick off 2026 with a new cohort
for the APA x LSA mentorship programme!
LSA is a sixth form academy for young people passionate about film production and storytelling. Its mission is to transform the lives of those from underrepresented backgrounds, recruit a highly diverse student body, and provide a pathway to the UK screen industry.
We would like to thank the 23 APA members who signed up to be mentors, we truly appreciate your support.
The programme consists of five 1:1 mentoring sessions, delivered in person and online, as well as 1-2 weeks’ work experience.
Mentoring spans a wide range of roles and disciplines, offering students a well-rounded understanding of the industry, including:
- insight into the day-to-day running of production and post companies
- editor sessions
- experience on set
- collaboration with glam teams
- director-led sessions
- an introduction to treatment design
- insight into marketing and new business
Students with an interest in cinematography and camera trainee roles will also be attending workshops facilitated by ARRI Rental.
The APA is committed to increasing representation in the commercials production industry, and your involvement in this initiative is vital to that goal. By sharing your experience, you’re helping build confidence, increase representation and shape the next generation of talent!
