The 17th annual World Producers Summit brought 100 production company owners from around the world- representing 35 countries- together to share intelligence about the production market in 2025.
The meeting was chaired by Steve Davies, CEO of the APA, Florence Jacob, the President of the EPA, and AICP President Matt Miller.
In attendance were representatives from the following countries:
- China
- France
- German
- Greece
- Japan
- Mexico
- Portugal
- Serbia
- South Africa
- Spain
- Sweden
- Turkey
- United Kingdom
- USA
The pre-meeting feedback from attendees made AI the favoured subject for discussion, so we devoted the session to that – entirely from the view point of it as an opportunity for production companies.
There is no virtue in discussing it as a threat and we looked at work to date, its potential, and possible business models. It would not work for production companies to simply apply the mark up principles of a live action production to something produced for a much lower cost- that would not be a viable business, so prod cos are exploring different approaches. We also discussed legal issues around AI use.
Thank you to everyone who attended and we look forward to seeing you next year in Cannes 2026.
