Blink are looking for a full-time visual researcher to join the family. No previous researcher experience is necessary – but perhaps you’re currently a runner, looking to move up into visual research.
It’s an exciting opportunity to work closely with directors and learn about how we pitch on commercials and music videos. You would be an integral part of the creative team, helping our award-winning directors visualise and express their ideas into treatments.
-Film and photographic knowledge is essential.
-Adobe InDesign and Photoshop experience is essential.
-Adobe Premiere knowledge (or similar editing software) would be useful.
-Understanding of design would be preferable.
-Be able to take briefs and cater to different directors’ styles.
-Be good at communicating with directors and producers.
-Be able to work under pressure.
On an average day, you would speak to a director via email or phone, reading a script and taking a research brief. Search for images and/or video references, and continue to follow instructions from the director and producer, as the pitch progresses.
Once they are happy with your research, you will then assemble the images with the director’s writing, creating a full treatment in an InDesign document.
No two days are the same – it is a great chance to learn to interpret scripts, understand how different directors work, and create winning pitches.
