Studio Generalist

Overview of role

A Studio Generalist must assist the production team on a day-to-day basis with ad-hoc duties, both technical and organisational.

Key responsibilities

Operations:

Responsible for all enquiries in the Big Buoy studio

Prepping artwork for 2D projects including illustrator and photoshop

Knowledge of Flame, Nuke, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Avid, Premiere, Maya, Resolve would be very beneficial

Transcoding rushes for Avid and setting up offline projects

Encoding various deliverables and approval files

Good knowledge of technical specifications and formats

Overall database management including organising servers, project files, FTP sites, file sharing portals etc.

Handling hard-drives and knowledge of reformatting for Mac and PC where necessary

Calm under pressure and the ability to manage multiple workloads/projects at any one time

Proactively liaise with Production and Operators to problem solve

Client:

Have the ability to deal with client issues quickly and effectively, seeking assistance when required.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients providing assistance and advice as and when required.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients.

Confidently engage with clients in pre-production meetings offering advice & solutions on how to achieve best results.

People:

Take responsibility for own learning and development

Liaising with all levels of management and staff
