Overview

The successful candidate will join a well-established, dynamic and agile creator of original video content that offers full service video production for a diverse range of clients, including big name brands, across multiple sectors on both editorial and branded content. We’re a small but powerful team with a strong growth trajectory and ambitions as Covid eases.

Based in Brixton, London, this role presents a great opportunity for a strong Junior Editor who is able to take responsibility for small post-production video projects end to end, but more importantly support the Senior Editor in more complex and bigger projects. This new role completes a two person editing team and will be in a great position to mold the role and have the opportunity to grow as the company expands.

We’re looking for someone who is not only a self-starter, creative, innovative and ambitious, but eager to learn and support. A passion for what you do, strong creative eye, attention to detail, personable, technically adept and being up to speed on the latest editing software capabilities is a must.

In order to hit the ground running, you will need to have a previous editing role under your belt and some solid demonstrable experience, preferably in a fast-paced post-production agency environment. Working with primarily short form video projects for corporate & FMCG brands, social content, both B2B & B2C plus other creative video projects.

Purpose of the role

Working under the Senior Editor, the Junior Editor will primarily support the Senior Editor with large projects in terms of preparing, researching and clipping assets, as well as working with the Production team autonomously on small editing projects.

The purpose is to consistently deliver high quality videos to client briefs. We encourage ideas and innovation to ensure we achieve this not only creatively but efficiently to maximise returns for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Editing short video content including:
    • Branded content
    • Vlogs
    • Behind The Scenes
    • Interviews
    • Event coverage
    • Social media content
    • Promotional videos for products & services
  • Reviewing, making selections and organising raw video footage
  • Researching project related stock footage
  • Sourcing appropriate library music for each edit
  • Downloading, uploading, logging & maintenance of AV assets
  • Versioning video clips across media channels
  • Consolidating and archiving completed projects
  • Packaging and delivering projects
  • Project ownership including communication, planning, foresight & proactive mngt of challenges
  • Receiving, managing & executing feedback
  • Work within corporate branding guidelines
  • Using project management software to track project progress and input weekly timesheets

Required Skills:

  • 1 – 2 years previous experience in a Junior Editor role and/or excellent college portfolio of work if a graduate, clearly demonstrating understanding of the video content sphere.
  • Passion for editing and creating stories through video
  • Good understanding of advertising best practices
  • Ability to see projects through from planning to delivery
  • Experience optimising assets across different channels
  • Proven experience of dealing with high volume and quick turnaround projects
  • Super organised with their projects and edits
  • Understanding of narrative storytelling
  • Meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • An interpersonal individual who can communicate clearly

Technical Skills

  • Excellent skills and experience in Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects
  • Confident using Mac hardware and software
  • Understanding of sound recording and editing
  • Understanding of colour grading
  • General multimedia skills such as video conversion
