Junior Edit Producer Job Specification 

Reports to:                    Julian Marshall (Executive Producer)

Reportees:                    Assistants regarding job specific issues


Role overview:

You will have a basic understanding of the commercials workflow, with some budgeting & scheduling knowledge.

The Junior Producer must have excellent communication skills and sound judgement, be able to work well with employees and clients at all levels, hold strong organisational skills, and have the ability to react and adapt to a fast-paced working environment.

You will also be required, in a junior capacity, to work directly with clients to manage expectations and grow/maintain client trust in our services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ownership of all assigned projects and to ensure a high quality is attained across these projects.
  • A keen interest in learning more about negotiations and edit workflow.
  • Financial and budgeting knowledge, can be a basic level – you’ll be expected to construct budgets and manage them through to maintain margins and overall job profitability.
  • Liaising with editor about scripts/treatments and the creativeness and quality of the job.
  • Oversee the assistants on job related issues.
  • Good negotiation and people skills – essential to have good working relationships with Directors, production, agencies and post producers.
  • You’ll be delivering smaller campaigns; teamwork, multi-tasking and delegation skills are essential.
  • Enter awards ceremonies.
  • Maintain our Wiredrive database by chasing masters and helping to create showreels.

Client Services:

  • Build and manage effective relationships with the relevant clients.
  • Maintain a good relationship with production companies, agencies and post house.

Required skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Some experience in an offline edit house or other relevant experience.
  • Good organisational and administration skills.
  • Ability to assume a leadership role when managing your own projects.
  • Basic understanding of production processes and methodology.
  • Previous use of scheduling & Invoicing software such as Farmers Wife would be an advantage.
