Today we launched the Commercials Production Diversity Action Plan initiative, in front of supporting production companies, advertising agencies, record labels and crewing agents.
We have been working with Bectu for the past year on an action plan that focuses on increasing diverse representation within commercials crews and making commercial production sets an inclusive and safe space for all.
It was extremely encouraging to see so many people turn up to support the live launch, this is an excellent step to make a positive social change.
Thank you also to the speakers who gave informed and passionate speeches. Janice Turner, Phillpa Childs, and Faisal Qureshi from Bectu, APA Chief Executive Steve Davies and Morgan Whitlock from APA member company Sweetshop. And finally, actor and director Colin Salmon, who gave a particularly stirring speech touching on subjects close to his heart around creating safe and inclusive spaces for all.
We want to thank again the working group for all their help; Antoinette De Lisser, Becca Gribbin, Morgan Whitman, Spencer Dodd & Seth Wilson, Park Village for hosting the launch and Jordan Robertson from Jelly for Illustrating the cover.
We appreciate all who turned up to demonstrate their support.
