AdGreen APA Seminar | Small Actions, Big Difference

Posted in Events, News, tagged with Events, Seminars, Sustainability, on May 26, 2016

This morning saw an extremely encouraging seminar with Jo Coombes, founder of AdGreen hosting presentations and discussion with Richard Brooke, Unilever, Suzanne Dolan & Louise Smith, BBC and Tracy Courtney-Wills, Palma Pictures about improving the carbon footprint of the advertising industry.

It became clear that the key to reducing our impact on the environment is education and a demand for change in attitudes from our colleagues and suppliers. Tracy from Palma Pictures emphasised the need to create the demand for greener solutions to your problems on set in order for them to become the norm and indeed to work. Richard of Unilever also commented that very soon, from the client perspective, “sustainability will become a mandatory factor” in decisions of who clients choose to work with.

The APA will be working towards getting an accreditation service for the members in order for each company to feel the benefit of it’s hard work in being more sustainable – a problem that Suzanne, Series Coordinator for BBC’s EastEnders,  pointed out is the main factor in people losing momentum with encouraging sustainable practice.
